The Intentio Technology Advantage

Intentio Consulting + Engineering has a strong foundation in using many of the latest technologies to deliver top notch service with less overhead and paper waste. Below are descriptions of some of the key technologies that Intentio incorporates, and how they benefit our clients.

E-Contracts

Intentio is heavily invested in using technologies to reduce excess costs and improve convenience. This is noticeable at the beginning from our contract delivery. Contracts are prepared and delivered in a secure, digitally signed PDF document. From there, the contract can be ineractively commented & marked up, and with a click, both parties can agree digitally to the contract in a format that is legally recognized. Of course, we always provide hard copies and accomodate our client needs, but many have found this to be a fast and effective way to finalize agreements.

E-Conferencing

Sometimes the time and effort to meet over high priority tasks with quick deadlines conflicts with our short term schedules. Intentio is able to set up and engage web conferences (for up to 20 people) on the fly to accommodate when other's schedules do not, for the sake of moving the project forward.

Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Intentio incorporates BIM into all of their designs. Using a combination of Autodesk Civil Engineering Software, custom applications, and a host of Adobe products, data from models can be transfered automatically to reports. Repetitive data, such as project names, Local Issuing Authorities, etc. are also progamitically entered across all products to reduce errors and increase productivity. Traditionally, engineering design required multiple iterative calculations for each what-if scenario. Once a design was well developed, change of the design would require recalculating all design parameters. With BIM, the parameters are based on model parts. Every time the model is changed, all of the design calculations change as well. This provides the greatest savings from BIM, as revision efforts are reduced. Further, numerous scenarios can be tested with less effort. And finally, since BIM is based on actual components (such as pavement, pipe, etc.) quantities can be assimilated from the model quickly and easily to compare costs. The display of objects for plans is traditionally drafted after the design is complete. However, with BIM, styles are also applied, so that many drafting tasks are performed simultaneous with the design. This allows many presentable options throughout design, again, improving the ability to communicate ideas.

Project Scheduling

Intentio provides project design schedules through use of Microsoft Project. Project schedules help clients to identify critical path items and plan other elements and decisions so that the design schedule is met.

Communication By Design

Intentio is renown for standing out in presentation. This is because J. Alan Neal, the founding president of Intentio, has long studied the use of graphic design in communications to successfully deliver a message. The theory behind this was that if the information is conveyed in a more effective way, then review times would be faster, and plans & reports would be easier to read, saving time on the part of contractors, clients, and engineers. This first year has been a tribute to the success of these elements, with many compliments from regulatory agencies, contractors, and clients on the ease to review and execute plans.

In addition, a guide is available for clients and contractors to help understand some of the plan nomenclature, such as the revisions process, etc. Contact Intentio Consulting + Engineering at info@intentioce.com to access samples of our engineering products.

Presentation Visualization has often been considered more fluff than substance, but there are many situations where visualization is absolutely necessary to sell an idea, whether it is to investors or in a public forum. Intentio can provide a host of visualization exhibits with and without engineering data using BIM. Furthermore, renderings can be provided to visualize concepts. We use a combination of the latest technologies in GIS, graphic design, and CADD to deliver professional, quality renderings and exhibits, and can provide video, interactive web presentations, or Powerpoint presentations in addition to traditional print media presentations.  Intentio has complete printing and publishing capabilities in house for reports and plan sets. All printing equipment has color capability, and all plans and reports are designed to be readable in color or black and white.

GIS Integration

Intentio uses an integrated GIS system in the design software. Maps and plans can be prepared, and preliminary designs can be sent to the client in an easily viewable GIS format (such as Google Earth) for clients to review. GIS information helps perform valuable due diligence research before making more commitments on a project. We recognize how important this field is, and continue to stay on the leading edge of information mining.
